The Venue

Lugnet Sportcenter is one of Sweden´s largest and most modern sports facilities. As many as 57 different sports are practiced here. But the focus is, and always has been, on skiing. The new construction that is planned for the Nordic World Ski Championships 2015 will give us a world-class facility with seating for up to 60,000 spectators.

Cross country stadium

The area is often used, both winter- and summertime for different kinds of sports and fairs. It is also the Swedish national arena for cross country skiing.

Ski Jumping Arena

The two hills were built in 1973 and have become something like a trademark for Falun. The large hill is 52 meters and the smaller hill is 22 meters. They are also used in the summertime for training. Here you find media subpresscenter, race office SJ and OB for ski jumping.

Wax cabins

Easily located close to the cross country stadium.

Congress and event arena

The congress and event arena is 10.000 m2 and can be used for concerts, fairs and different types of meetings.

Indoor sports arena

The arena (7000 m2) can be divided into smaller arenas and is used for sports such as badminton, squash and bowling. Indoors is also a swimming arena with facilities for relaxing, jaccuzzi and sauna.

Indoor tennis/track & field arena

Within walking distance from the cross country stadium.

Hotel Scandic

A popular hotel with all kinds of modern facilities. 400 beds, restaurant, pool area, and conference facility.

Sport hotel

The new Sports Hotel will open in 2010 and can accommodate 300 guests.

20 Cottages

Modern, comfortable cottages which can accommodate up to 5 guests in each cottage.

University of Dalarna

10 000 students from various countries study at the university which is located within the Lugnet area.
